So many holidays this fall! We took advantage of the latest few days off ( a combo of Ghandi's birthday, a Hindu Holiday and a Muslim holiday) to head to Sri Lanka. Although it's not that big, getting around takes some time. We chose to go from Colombo to the historic city of Kandy and then on to Nuwara Eliya home to tea plantations high in the mountains, then back to Kandy where we hopped on a train to Colombo and spent our last day. Here is a map of our trip: s://goo.gl/maps/Uk2kW
We had a great time! Foster is a lot of fun to travel with now. He gets so so excited about traveling, from packing our "baggage" to the airplane rides and train rides, the hotel rooms and of course of the fact that we relax our "rules" and he gets to use the Ipad a lot more than at home. He is beginning to request airplane rides every few weeks, thinking that this is normal. Our trip included lots of tuk-tuk rides in Sri Lanka's colorful fleet and red, blue, green and other assorted colors; a horse ride; a train ride; and an elephant farm, what's not for a two year old to love.
First stop--a few photos from our day around Kandy, a charming little city. We visited the historic temple where the tooth of the Buddha is kept and watch a dance performance of traditional Sri Lankan dance, which Foster loved and got to get close to some elephants at the
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

Foster still is a lady's man in Sri Lanka, getting lots of attention from the Aunties at the temple. |

Is that chicken under there escaping from the rain? |

We've come a long way. In Assam Foster refused to take an elephant ride, but here he was excited to get up close. |
