Fun times at the Lake

The weather has been hot, so we've gotten to spend lots of time at the lake.  The boys are both into fishing and boat riding and swimming.  We've also gotten to spend some time with our cousins and friends.  We even had friends from Hyderabad come and visit--Gurdit, Sharan, and Malika happen to be visiting family in Kansas on their R&R from Jakarta, what a great coincidence.

Catching Fireflies at the Farm

While we were back in Kansas City we went to Sutton's cousin's farm in Kansas about 2 hours from the city and really off the grid--as soon as you turn down the dirt road, no cell phone service.  The boys loved it, the bugs, the pond, where Foster found a skeleton and bones for is unending "collection." And the highlight catching fireflies or lightning bugs.

Iowa Summers with Cousins

One of the best things about being back is getting to catch up with our Iowa family and watching the boys and their cousins become friends.  We got to go airplane launching, strawberry picking, to Adventure land for amusement park rides, visited museums, and made lots of memories along the way.

Our first ride of the day--Foster had asked me a few weeks ago if America had bumper cars like they did in Banja Luka.  Afterwards he determined that the cars in Banja Luka were better because they were more shiny and the cars at Adventureland needed to be cleaned up.

Foster and Alex did the "Lighthouse" ride by themselves at least 6 times, until Foster got "circle sick." Their heads barely peaked up over the top. Once was enough for John.
