The boys must have been very good this year, looking at the presents Santa left. A new bike for Foster, which Santa hid on the porch but Foster promptly found in 5 seconds. A new tow truck for Kai and Hot Wheels for both boys. Then lots of books and a hat and mittens from Aunt Whitney, not to mention filled stockings with candy.
Christmas was on a Monday and no one in Banja Luka celebrates it--waiting until Serb Orthodox Christmas on January 7th. So we had friends over after school and work. We played a lot with their new toys, had a dinner together (introducing our friends to apple cider and American Christmas cookies, then we read Polar Express, and made gingerbread houses. A hit ad fun sharing an American tradition with our friends here who have never made these before. Lots of icing and eating of candy.
