The last year has flown by. Foster talks in full sentences now and definitely has an opinion about things. He loves to dance and sing songs, especially "wheels on the bus." In the car there is a constant commentary on all the vehicles and/or animals we see passing us by. For Christmas, one of our good friends gave Foster the "Go, Dogs, Go!" book. He has been mesmerized by it. I can't even count the number of times that we have read the book. And it combines his favorite things, dogs, lots of forms of transportation and a party at the end, with let's not forget cake. Therefore, it seemed to be the perfect theme for his 2nd birthday.
We had the party at a local play place, lots of jumping, a ball pit and a kitchen that Foster's loves to play in. He loved having all of his friends around and playing, but when it came time for singing and cake cutting, he wanted no part of it. Despite having talked about the party and the birthday song and practicing it all week, he was not a happy camper. But once he took a break and realized that there was cake involved, and that he was going to get a piece of cake, oh everything changed.

The cake
Eyeing the cake suspiciously
Still not convinced, even when everyone starts singing
Get me out of here, it's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to!
All is well now that I have a piece of cake. You guys should have told me that I would get cake!
Some videos from my day, there is a theme to this...food!
