Lake Time--Part 1

The first few days at the lake this summer Kai was hesitant to jump in. He would hang out at the ladder and he was scared of going fast on the boat. Well that was short-lived. Now he is running and jumping and even "diving" and screaming for Grandpa to go faster and faster in the boat.  And once Lance taught him how to fish--he was an official fisherman and informed me that he needed a fishing boat as well.

This is what great summer memories are made of.

Field of Dream--Foster's Baseball Obsession

We had an inkling last year about Foster's baseball obsession when he started T-ball. But this year it was full-blown. Every waking moment he would be catching or practicing if he could.  There were full blown tears in February when he realized baseball season wasn't for a few more months.  He went to a baseball day camp--8 hours of baseball--when we picked him up the first thing he asked was if we could play catch.

He played on the Leprechauns this year and found a few other baseball obsessed boys as well. It's fun to watch him grow and learn as the season progressed.  He even ended up going to the city league finals, or as he called it the "all star game."

Mike and his Bike

For my Dad's high school reunion he pulled out his bike from high school, with an award still attached.

Kai's first season of baseball

Kai enjoyed his first season of baseball, especially because he wanted to do whatever Foster was doing. He enjoyed the season, especially hitting and running the bases.

Foster's 7th Birthday

What a great way to celebrate Foster's birthday-McDonald's then presents and cake at the lake. Foster got what he had so been longing for--baseball cleats, pants, socks, a belt. And Kai couldn't even keep the cleats wrapped, he had been so excited as soon as they came out Kai had them open. Uncle Harold helped Foster get all dressed up and for the next 3 days he got dressed up every day.
