Foster 7th Birthday Party--Baseball

Foster made a simple request for his birthday party: baseball. He wanted to have all of his friends come and play baseball. And  his wish was granted. Despite the rainy weather, everyone came out and played and played, making one happy birthday boy.

Last Days of School

One year come and gone. From the first day of school:

to 9 months later. New friends, lesson learned, a great year.

Cousins at the Lake

We squeeze in as much cousin as we can.  Even if that means traveling from Des Moines for two days of playing hard and making memories at the lake. The pure excitement of them seeing each other, screaming and hugging and jumping on the bed--totally worth it.

And of course a water balloon fight.

I'll play by myself

You always know when Kai has been playing somewhere, all of the cars are lined up, or in a row. He plays intensely and with such seriousness that you have to just watch in awe.

And Kai is 4!

And one more trip around the sun for Kai. He has become very opinionated and out spoken. He wants to be a professional basketball player when he grows up and got a basketball goal in our back space to practice and practice. He had a race car themed birthday at the playground near school. Which was appropriate as he loves his hot wheel cars and will play by himself for literally hours at a time, and if you dare to interrupt he says "don't listen to me." He has made some very special friends at school and his easy going attitude made the teacher call him "magic."  We're looking to another fabulous year.

Happy Easter

Easter was full of Easter egg dying and an Easter party which included an egg-pinata, which didn't last long with Foster behind the swing (it only took one swing.)
