Christmas Day

A great Christmas day for everyone.  Foster had been hoping for "seven Nerf guns" but was excited with his new Nike tie shoes, baseball sweater, Legos, and button up pajamas.  Kai had no special requests from Santa, but was excited to get a new truck and Legos from Whitney.

Jingles even brought the boys' stocking from D.C. to Kansas City

A new baseball sweater from Whitney as requested.

New Legos.

Astronaut Kai.

Foster has been asking for Nike tie shoes for months, so he was so excited Santa brought them.  He insisted on playing basketball to try them out.  Then had to clean them when they got the least bit dirty.  He slept with them in the box next to his bed.

Christmas Eve

A Meagher family tradition, Christmas eve at Kathleen and John's with Mass, an appearance by Santa and then the $25 gift exchange.  Foster tried to get the $25 in cash or the Chiefs hat but was thwarted by Theresa and Kathleen, maybe next year!

Even Aunt P. made it this year!

Kai had lost Nemo a few weeks ago, but he reappeared all "shiny and new." It seems Santa cleared him up.

Foster and Kai got a Blue Crew kit with Royals hats, watches and tickets to the game!

Left out for Santa and his reindeer. Kai said "Be careful on the sleigh" and Foster said "I have been good all year."
Proof that Santa made it.

Soccer time

Since we've gotten back from Bosnia this summer Foster cannot get enough of sports. Any sports, baseball, soccer, basketball, you name it he wants to learn to play.  Luckily, our neighborhood has an informal drop-in league.  Every Sunday for a few hours kids got together with some dad coaches to improve their skills and have fun.  By the last few meet ups they were actually doing really well and could pass it a few times.

Big Imaginations

The boys still have big imaginations and on a weekly basis our couch becomes a boat or an airplane.  All it takes is one of them finding a pair of goggles or an abandoned tray..inspiration strikes and their off. Telling big tales and constructing new stories of traveling to far away places.

I was trying to throw this cart away, but was stopped by Foster who decided it was a serving cart for the airplane.

Reading with Dad

Cold winter days are perfect for reading and snuggling inside with dad.

Taking a snooze with Grandpa

Over Thanksgiving Grandma and Grandpa came to stay and took care of the boys for almost a week--lots of fun but everyone was tired by the end of the day.

Decorating Christmas Trees, Cookies and Gingerbread Houses

The boys like decorating cookies and gingerbread houses for Christmas, likely because f the chance to eat candy.  It's a fact more candy gets eaten than used for decorating.  This year Grandma and Grandpa were in town to help us decorate our tree.

Jingles was back this year for more fun and tricks!
